Pete Packwood

It is with great sadness that we have learned about the passing of Peter Packwood, our founder. Pete, along with Derek Key, who had been his apprentice at Sutherland Printers, opened the doors to Packwood Printers Limited in September 1974. They started out in an old chicken shed in Cotteswold Dairy Yard and together they established a reputable business.

Even after his retirement in the 90’s he often popped in, lending a hand when we were busy or just for a cuppa and a chat. Right up until the start of the pandemic he would ride his bike up to see us to compare printing now to printing then, to scratch his head at all the technology and talk about the good old days!

We still have customers who fondly ask after Pete and share memories of him delivering parcels to them on his old butcher’s bike!

He will be sorely missed by all of us, but even more so by his family and we are sending our love and condolences to his sons Philip and John, his brother Roger, his grandchildren, and his extended family.
